From Emiliano Zapata, Morelos, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo launched Salud Casa por Casa (Health House-to-House), a national program designed to provide medical care with compassion and dignity to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Sheinbaum emphasized that the initiative is a cornerstone of the Mexican Humanism philosophy that guides the Fourth Transformation.
“This is medicine on the ground, with nurses visiting homes to bring care where it’s needed most. It’s a public policy made with love—not just to provide healthcare, but to deliver well-being,” said Sheinbaum at the assembly launching the program. She reaffirmed that her government operates with honesty, empathy, and deep love for the people.
The program involves 20,000 health facilitators who will conduct monthly home visits, backed by a national call center staffed with medical advisors. By the end of 2025, each person visited is expected to have a digital medical record, helping ensure early diagnosis and management of chronic diseases among vulnerable populations.
During the inauguration, Health Secretary David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz stated that Salud Casa por Casa also offers a career path for nursing professionals. Meanwhile, Alejandro Svarch Pérez, head of IMSS-Bienestar, called the initiative an “innovative model that brings healthcare directly to people’s doors.”
President Sheinbaum was joined by federal and local authorities, including Morelos Governor Margarita González Saravia, who thanked the federal government for improving care for the state’s elderly population. The program is expected to benefit more than 14 million people nationwide, reflecting a powerful commitment to community wellness and social inclusion.
