To effectively assist communities impacted by the intense rains in the state of Hidalgo, the Government of Mexico has activated three Command Centers operating with 21 helicopters and established 111 air bridges. The Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that a Main Base was set up at Pachuca Airport, along with two Advanced Logistic Bases in the municipalities of Zimapán and Zacualtipán.

These bases are capable of transporting up to 4,872 food packages per day, benefiting nearly 19,488 people, as well as delivering medical supplies and evacuating residents who require specialized care. The packages are sent by freight trucks to the logistic bases, from where they are distributed by air to communities that remain isolated due to damage to the road network.

During her morning conference, “La Mañanera del Pueblo,” President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized the importance of this logistical and operational deployment as an immediate State response to the emergency. She reaffirmed her government’s commitment to protecting and supporting the population during natural disasters.

General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, Secretary of National Defense, detailed that the Main Base in Pachuca operates with 10 helicopters supporting 57 communities; the Zimapán base, with five aircraft, serves 28 communities; and the Zacualtipán base, with six helicopters, supplies 26 localities. In addition to humanitarian aid, the flights also collect critical data on closed roads, which is shared with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) to expedite reopening.

With these actions, the Government of Mexico demonstrates its coordinated, compassionate, and efficient response to natural disasters, reaffirming its commitment to reach every corner of the country with social justice and humanitarian focus.
