President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that from August 1 to 30, enrollment will be open for Mexican women aged 60 to 64 to register for the Women’s Wellness Pension, which will provide bimonthly financial support of 3,000 pesos. This initiative fulfills the new administration’s commitment to ensuring social rights with a gender perspective.
During her “People’s Morning Conference,” the president emphasized that the program already benefits over one million women aged 63 and 64, and registration will now be open to women aged 60 to 62, expanding this social protection scheme. Registration will be available Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the modules listed on the official website: www.gob.mx/bienestar.
Secretary of Welfare Ariadna Montiel Reyes explained that applicants must present a valid official ID, CURP, birth certificate, proof of address, phone number, and the Bienestar form. She also noted that those unable to attend in person can request a home visit through the same online platform. Registration will be organized alphabetically by last name from Monday to Friday, while Saturdays will be open to all letters.
In the same conference, Citlalli Hernández Mora, Secretary for Women, reported that 607 of the 678 planned LIBRE Centers have already been established this year, with an investment of over 651 million pesos. These centers have served nearly 30,000 women and offer support in five areas: economic autonomy, community networks, violence prevention, emotional and psychological support, and legal counseling.
Finally, it was announced that on July 21, a decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation amending Article 18 of the Law on the National Coat of Arms, Flag, and Anthem. The reform incorporates a new national commemorative date honoring 24 heroines for their fundamental role in Mexico’s history and transformation.
