President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented her First Government Report from the National Palace, affirming that the country is advancing in consolidating the “Second Floor of the Fourth Transformation” with significant achievements in social programs, security, economy, education, infrastructure, health, housing, and women’s rights.

In her address, the president emphasized that Mexico is a free, independent, and sovereign nation with an extraordinary and hardworking people. She recalled that, for the first time in over two centuries, a woman leads the nation, inspiring girls and young women to break historical barriers. She pledged not to betray the people’s trust and to continue working with integrity, courage, and commitment.

Sheinbaum highlighted that in her first year, Welfare Programs were consolidated with an investment of 850 billion pesos benefiting 32 million families. She also implemented new initiatives such as the Women’s Welfare Pension, the Rita Cetina universal scholarship for secondary students, and the “Health House to House” program. Additionally, she noted a reduction of 13.5 million people in poverty and a decrease in inequality rates.

On security, she reported that intentional homicides dropped by 25 percent, high-impact crimes by 20 percent, violent car theft by 31 percent, and femicides by 34 percent. She also underscored the Judicial Reform that enabled free elections for justices, judges, and magistrates, as well as the recognition of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples as subjects of public rights.

The president also reported on economic and infrastructure progress: 1.2 percent growth, record foreign investment, controlled inflation, an increase in the minimum wage, and new strategic projects such as the Economic Development Poles, the Interoceanic Corridor, and passenger trains. In health and housing, hospitals were inaugurated, the Housing for Well-being program was launched, and free land titles were granted. Finally, she reaffirmed that her government is guided by the principle “for the good of all, the poor first,” and assured that Mexico is living a stellar moment in its history.
