President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported that the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has reached a total of 18.6 million passengers as of March 30, while Mexicana de Aviación is approaching one million users, results she described as positive for both strategic projects.
During the “Las Mañaneras del Pueblo” press conference, the president highlighted that AIFA continues to grow in both passenger and cargo transport, while emphasizing its profitability and expansion potential. In this regard, she recalled that the airport reached its break-even point in 2024.
According to official data, more than 7 million of AIFA’s passengers correspond to 2025, in addition to a cumulative total of 1,136,900 tons of cargo transported since the start of operations. Likewise, between January and February 2026, revenues reached 555.87 million pesos, representing an 11.5 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
Regarding Mexicana de Aviación, it was reported that the airline has sold more than 1,022,000 tickets, accumulating 19,900 flight hours across 14,400 operations, with a 95 percent satisfaction rate among its users. The airline currently serves 14 destinations and 751 connections, with plans to expand its routes and fleet.
Finally, the Government of Mexico emphasized that both initiatives are part of a strategy to strengthen the country’s air connectivity, offering accessible alternatives for the population and consolidating infrastructure ahead of international events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
