President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the Health House to House program assembly in Jalisco, where she praised healthcare professionals as the closest representation of the Mexican state in the homes of elderly and disabled individuals. “You are the government and the health system in every home,” she told more than 700 nurses and doctors participating in the program.

Speaking from the IMSS Regional Warehouse, Sheinbaum emphasized that her administration governs by being present in communities, and that she has already completed two full tours across all 32 states in under eight months—reflecting her administration’s commitment to direct, close engagement with citizens.

The Health House to House program focuses on disease prevention through monthly home visits, the creation of digital medical records, clinical follow-ups, and the issuing of prescriptions that can be filled for free at Well-being Pharmacies. “Prevention is the most important part, and this program will help us improve the health of our people,” Sheinbaum stated.

The president also announced that starting June 2, a national call center staffed by specialized medical personnel will begin operations to assist more than 20,000 community health workers. These consultations will be available by phone or video call, depending on each case’s needs.

During the event, the Ministry of Welfare and IMSS signed a cooperation agreement to ensure care for Well-being Pension beneficiaries. Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro acknowledged the willingness for coordination among all levels of government and emphasized that “after the pandemic, we’ve learned that health is the most important thing.” Key members of the social and health cabinets, including Zoé Robledo, Ariadna Montiel, and David Kershenobich, were also in attendance.
