Within the framework of the 112th Anniversary of the Defense of the Port of Veracruz, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the Flag Oath Ceremony of 419 first-year cadets from the Heroic Naval Military School and the Naval Studies Center in Health Sciences, where she stated that love for the nation and its people must prevail over submission and ambition.
During the ceremony held at the Field of Honor of the Heroic Naval Military School in Alvarado, Veracruz, the president emphasized that Mexico requires women and men who are upright, disciplined, and guided by principles, capable of serving the nation with commitment and vocation.
In her message, she underscored that serving the nation means serving others, noting that the work of the Armed Forces is aimed at protecting sovereignty, assisting the population in emergency situations, and contributing to the well-being of society.
The head of the Executive Branch recalled the historical legacy of those who defended the country, paying tribute to the cadets who gave their lives in the defense of the Port of Veracruz in 1914 and in other key moments of national history, highlighting the importance of keeping the values of loyalty and patriotism alive.
For its part, the Ministry of the Navy reaffirmed its commitment to sovereignty, security, and the well-being of the people of Mexico, while outstanding cadets were recognized, receiving the ceremonial dagger as a symbol of their training and leadership within the institution.
