In the context of Father’s Day, President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced the awarding of six double trips to the southeastern region of the country for Mexican fathers whose birthdays fall on June 21, as part of the tourism strategy “La Gran Escapada 2026,” aimed at boosting domestic tourism through discounts and promotions.

The prizes include a round-trip flight with a companion via Mexicana de Aviación, a tour aboard the Tren Maya, and accommodation in Mundo Maya hotels, with the possibility of being used on any date until December, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen tourism activity in the region.

To participate, interested individuals must log in today at 2:00 p.m. to the official account of the Ministry of Tourism on Instagram (@sectur_mx), where a registration process will be enabled to select the six winners of this special initiative.

Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora reported that “La Gran Escapada” includes more than 114,000 tourism experiences and the participation of 6,577 establishments, representing growth compared to the previous year and a wider range of services for both domestic and international visitors.

For his part, Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano, President of CONCANACO SERVYTUR, estimated that this edition could generate an economic impact of 44 billion pesos, boosting domestic tourism through average discounts of 35 percent, payment facilities, and promotions in lodging, transportation, recreational activities, and gastronomic experiences.
