President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo toured the states of Puebla, Veracruz, and Hidalgo to personally oversee assistance for families affected by the intense rains of recent days. In a message shared on social media, she reported that the Armed Forces have activated Plans DN-III-E and Marina, also in San Luis Potosí and Querétaro, which she will visit on Monday, October 13.

“This Sunday we will be in Puebla, Veracruz, and Hidalgo, three of the states affected by the rains. We are responding to the emergency with Plans DN-III-E and Marina; the census to distribute support will begin soon. We are not going to leave anyone unprotected,” the president said.

Sheinbaum Pardo reported that since October 10 the National Emergency Committee has been operating, coordinating relief actions for the 111 municipalities affected across the six states mentioned. She specified that 103 of the 108 interruptions on 18 federal highways have been addressed, and that temporary shelters are operating at full capacity, ensuring the supply of food and drinking water.

The president expressed her solidarity and support for those who have lost family members and urged those still searching for loved ones to call 079, where specialized personnel provide information and assistance. “Not only our solidarity, but our full support to those going through difficult times,” she emphasized.

She also announced that the National Emergency Committee would meet again on Sunday at 7:00 p.m., and that during Monday’s “Conference of the People” the government will report on progress and actions undertaken to support the affected communities.
