President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported that the core elements of “Plan B” have been approved by 20 state congresses, making it constitutional, with only its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation pending. She emphasized that this reform brings an end to various privileges in the country.

During her participation in the morning press conference “Las Mañaneras del Pueblo,” the president highlighted that the main components of the reform include the prohibition of reelection, a ban on nepotism, a reduction in funding for state legislatures, and the elimination of pensions and benefits considered excessive.

She also explained that the next step in the legislative process will be the formal declaration in the Senate, prior to its official publication, thereby consolidating a transformation in the structure of public service under principles of austerity.

On another matter, the head of the Executive Branch highlighted that the “Mundial Social” program is being consolidated as a strategy that uses soccer as a tool for peace, promoting sports, community engagement, and social integration throughout the country.

As part of this initiative, the Government of Mexico reported progress in the construction and rehabilitation of 3,612 sports fields, along with the participation of various sectors, with the aim of strengthening the social fabric and creating development spaces for children and youth.
