Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated that the country is experiencing a new political and social reality, declaring that “Mexico has already changed” and that nothing and no one will stop the Transformation. During the report titled “Honesty, Results, Love for the People and the Nation: Accountability Two Years After the Victory,” held at the Monument to the Revolution and followed simultaneously in public squares across 30 states, she called on citizens to participate in informational assemblies to defend national sovereignty.
Before a reported audience of 850,000 people nationwide, the president emphasized that Mexico is a free, democratic, independent, and sovereign nation, where decisions belong exclusively to the Mexican people. In that context, she urged the public to organize community gatherings beginning next week to spread the message that the homeland is not for sale and that political differences should never outweigh the commitment to defend the country.
During her address, Sheinbaum highlighted achievements in economic, labor, and social policy. She noted that tax revenues have increased without raising taxes, that Mexico recorded a historic level of foreign direct investment during the first quarter of 2026, that inflation and interest rates have declined, and that more than 669,000 jobs have been created. She also stressed that the minimum wage has reached historic real-term increases and that millions of people continue to benefit from social welfare programs.
On security matters, she stated that the national strategy has contributed to reducing intentional homicides and other high-impact crimes, while also combating corruption and collusion with criminal organizations. She further reiterated that Mexico’s relationship with the United States is based on principles of respect and cooperation, emphasizing the need to curb the illegal flow of firearms into Mexico and address drug consumption issues within U.S. territory.
The president also highlighted progress in education, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, energy, and transportation, including the construction of new hospitals, universities, highways, rural roads, and railway lines. Concluding her report, Sheinbaum reaffirmed her commitment to continue working for the country’s development and stated that honesty, love for the people, and love for the nation will remain the guiding principles of her administration.
