From IMSS Family Medicine Unit No. 45, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the assembly of the Health House to House program, which she described as the most ambitious health prevention and care initiative in the world, with a focus on elderly individuals and people with disabilities.

Before more than 500 healthcare professionals, the president explained that the program has three main objectives: to provide direct care to older adults and people with disabilities by honoring their wisdom; to detect diseases early; and to govern at the grassroots level, strengthening the direct connection between the government and the people.

Sheinbaum recalled that the program’s first phase consisted of a national census carried out by the Ministry of Welfare. In the current second phase, nurses will visit homes once or twice a month to create and update digital medical records. When needed, beneficiaries will be able to call for medical advice, prescriptions, and receive free medications through the Well-being Pharmacies.

During the assembly, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry of Welfare and IMSS Bienestar, with Sheinbaum as an honorary witness, to ensure continued medical follow-up in the homes of recipients of the Well-being Pensions for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities.

Authorities emphasized that the program strengthens the first level of healthcare, promotes practical training for nursing personnel, and positions Mexico as a global leader in elderly health information and strategy. “Very soon, we will proudly say this is the most important preventive healthcare model in the world,” Sheinbaum concluded.
