President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted the strength of the national economy by presenting positive indicators for the month of April, including the historic record of 22,748,603 jobs affiliated with the Mexican Social Security Institute, the highest figure ever recorded for an April and the third highest since records began.

During the morning press conference “Las Mañaneras del Pueblo,” the federal president emphasized that by the end of April, a monthly increase of 23,923 jobs affiliated with the IMSS had been recorded, a result she described as a reflection of the country’s economic dynamism.

The head of the federal Executive Branch also highlighted the record reached in light vehicle sales during the first four months of the year, with 500,512 units sold, as well as the historic amount of remittances received in March, which totaled 5.394 billion dollars.

Likewise, Claudia Sheinbaum noted that from January to March 2026, remittances reached 14.457 billion dollars, an unprecedented figure for a first quarter. She added that inflation declined to 4.45 percent in April after three consecutive months of increases.

The president also highlighted the reduction of the interest rate by the Bank of Mexico to 6.5 percent, a measure that, she stated, helps encourage investment and strengthen the country’s economic growth.
