President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented the National Mental Health Care Strategy for Youth, titled “The ABC of Emotions,” which includes six core pillars aimed at strengthening socio-emotional well-being, early prevention, and comprehensive support across the country.

During the “Las Mañaneras del Pueblo” morning press conference, the federal president emphasized that this is an integral and collective strategy involving government, families, schools, and society, noting that mental health care is a shared responsibility.

The six pillars of the strategy include: a nationwide awareness campaign; distribution of 18 million guides for young people, parents, caregivers, and teachers; school-based activities; informational assemblies; interactive talks in educational institutions; and the strengthening of the “Línea de la Vida” hotline.

The president explained that the awareness campaign and school activities will begin in May, and that the “ABC of Emotions” guides will be available in digital format and distributed physically in the next school cycle, with the goal of reaching millions of students across the country.

It was also reported that the strategy includes school interventions, outreach brigades, dialogue spaces, promotion of self-care, and the strengthening of specialized mental health services, while the “Línea de la Vida” hotline will be reinforced to provide immediate support to those who need it.
