From Tlaxcala, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that she will defend the interests of the Mexican people—both at home and abroad—during her upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the G7 Summit in Canada. She emphasized that she will attend «with her head held high,» representing the dignity of the Mexican nation.

Speaking in Apetatitlán during the Programs for Welfare event, Sheinbaum stated that Mexico will not attend the Summit as a mere observer, but as a strong and constructive voice seeking agreements to benefit both nations. “When the President travels, the people of Mexico go with her,” she declared.

In the same event, the President announced a series of investments in health and education infrastructure for Tlaxcala. These include new equipment for the IMSS Bienestar General Hospital, expansion of the Children’s Hospital, and the construction of a new Women’s Hospital integrating services from both IMSS and IMSS Bienestar. She also confirmed the future establishment of a Rosario Castellanos University branch, a new IPN campus, and infrastructure projects like a new vehicular bridge in Chiautempan and a $1.5 billion peso investment to clean up the Atoyac River.

Alejandro Svarch Pérez, Director of IMSS Bienestar, highlighted that 1.2 billion pesos have already been invested to improve healthcare in the state and that the La Clínica es Nuestra program will launch on June 17. Presidential Technical Secretary Carlos Torres Rosas added that 850 billion pesos will be allocated nationwide in direct welfare support in 2025, including 9 billion pesos for 350,000 households in Tlaxcala.

Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros expressed gratitude to the federal government, noting that 93 million pesos have already been used to transform 179 clinics across 58 municipalities—advancing the right to health. The President was accompanied by members of the health and welfare cabinet as well as local authorities.
