In an event held in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring peace and security in the state through the National Security Strategy, which is based on four fundamental pillars: addressing root causes, strengthening the National Guard, enhancing intelligence and investigation, and fostering inter-institutional coordination.

«Here in Guanajuato, we must act for the well-being of families. You have my commitment to remain close and coordinate efforts to guarantee peace and security in this beautiful state. It’s not a one-day task, but if we work every day, we will achieve results,» stated the President.

Sheinbaum emphasized that security must be built upon justice and honesty, asserting that there can be no security where corruption exists. She also recalled that during her tenure as Head of Government of Mexico City, she achieved a 65% reduction in high-impact crimes and over a 50% decrease in intentional homicides, demonstrating that a security strategy with a social and intelligence focus yields results.

«We will work together, as we are two women, and together we can bring order to Guanajuato,» she remarked, referring to her collaboration with the state’s governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo.
