President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported that the Administrative Simplification Program, promoted by the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications (ATDT), has reached 60 percent progress and aims to make life easier for citizens through the use of technology while also combating practices associated with corruption.
During the morning press conference “Las mañaneras del pueblo,” the president highlighted that 1,711 procedures have been eliminated so far as a result of the simplification of 3,497 administrative processes. The goal by the end of 2026 is to intervene in a total of 4,500 procedures nationwide.
José Antonio Peña Merino, head of the ATDT, stated that this represents the largest administrative simplification effort ever undertaken in Mexico. In addition to reducing the number of procedures, the requirements needed to complete them have been reduced from an average of six to just two, making government services more accessible to citizens.
Among the most significant advances is the strengthening of the Single Portal for Procedures and Services, available through gob.mx, which has been used by 56 million people. Likewise, the Llave MX platform now has 28 million active accounts and allows users to complete procedures remotely through the integration of 242 government systems.
The strategy also includes the digitalization of services related to civil registry records, passports, consular assistance, investment and foreign trade, as well as the creation of platforms to facilitate business registration. Through these actions, the Government of Mexico seeks to reduce response times, streamline processes, and bring public services closer to citizens through technological tools.
